Welcome to

K-Country Adventures!

Private Photo Tours (18+)

If you're passionate about photography and would like to hone your skills and knowledge of the art, then one of our bespoke photo tours might be the perfect next step. Join us for a personalized photo adventure as we wander the trails with camera in hand to capture the abundance of natural beauty throughout Kananaskis. "K-Country" is what us locals affectionately call this vast wilderness whose peaks kiss the sky. Our storefront in Bragg Creek sits right at the edge and is considered one of several gateways. Let's hop in the truck and press the shutter together.

What about Bob?

You might have already met Bob & Candy at Branded Visuals here in Bragg Creek. They opened the doors to their photography gallery and print studio back in 2011 after getting hooked on birds several years earlier. Bob's passion for wildlife and landscape photography is paired with over 15 years of experience in digital editing (Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign etc.) and wide format printing (paper, canvas & sublimation). It's this vault of knowledge that is yours to access in the context of a Private Photography Adventure. His quick wit and banter are simply bonus if you show up with the slightest sense of humour. Bob has Guide and Field Leader Certifications with both the IGA and OCC (Interpretive Guides Association and Outdoor Council of Canada). He also maintains Wilderness First Aid Certification, but plans never to

have to use it.

Our Tours - Private and Flexible

This is where the fun begins. Consider a packaged theme, or let us put together a creative mix of individual elements. Please call when ready to discuss your Photography Adventure. We can look at the calendar together to determine the best date, time and location depending on the season,

weather and intel.

Wildlife in Season

Wildlife viewing is challenging at the best of times, but at certain times of the year, moose, owls, bears and birds are a bit more predictable. This is a 'take-a-chance' type of tour with nothing guaranteed except for the good time searching.

Hwy 66

A half day is plenty to take in the local gems like Elbow Falls, Rainy Creek Falls, Beaver Lodge and Forgetmenot Pond. If we add a panoramic view from Prairie Mountain or Nihahi Ridge, then a full day is definitely required.

We'll plan it together.

Mountain Hike

This adventure is designed to get you into the high country of Kananaskis. Destinations like Elbow Lake and Chester Lake will get your heart beating so you can then stand all sweaty and steady to capture those breathtaking views.

The Loop

Bob's favourite scenic drive starts south to Longview and then west towards the highest paved road in Canada (2200 metres). Let's just say there is plenty to photograph along the way: mountains, waterfalls, lakes, pikas, bears etc.

Bugs and Blooms

Macro photography opens our eyes to a whole new world of discovery. Join Bob on this snail’s pace adventure to photograph miniature creatures, flowers and abstracts in the wild using a flash diffuser and focus stacking techniques.

Waterfall Tour

This is definitely a whirlwind tour as we take in some of the best including Elbow, Sheep, Cat Creek, Edworthy and Troll falls. Dust off those ND filters for some slow shutter silk and a full day of longer exposures and wilderness bliss.

Required Reading

Please take a look at the following documents in advance of your Private Photo Tour. They will be filled out and signed on the day of our adventure prior to heading out. The waiver is a mandatory requirement insisted on by our insurance provider. The medical questionnaire ensures that we are prepared to take care of you in the event of an emergency. Gear list is there so that you can be prepared for whatever our adventure brings your way.

Photo Editing

Central to all our tours is the opportunity to edit photos in the field. Throughout the day, we will celebrate successes

and find ways to improve on not-so-good results. You will end the day with some images you can be proud of.

Kananaskis

Kananaskis rises from 200 million years of mountain building and Ice Age carving, a place where ancient limestone—once a seabed filled with coral reefs and marine life—now forms the region’s dramatic peaks and valleys. Its human story stretches back thousands of years, rooted in the cultures and histories of the Indigenous Nations of Treaty 7, and later recorded by explorer John Palliser, who adopted the name from the Cree warrior, Kin-e-a-kis. Today, this 4,000‑km² landscape blends geology, history, and modern purpose: a protected mountain region used for hiking, paddling, skiing, wildlife viewing, and watershed stewardship, shaped by both natural forces and generations of people who have called it home.
